Dear Worshippers and Friends of St. Clement’s

Thanks to John Noonan for preaching last Sunday, to the Youth and Children’s Ministry for the Pre-Christmas Celebration after the worship service and to everyone part of the Bake Sale. Also, many thanks to those of you who helped organized and joined us for Carolling around the Town last Tuesday. We were altogether 21 people and were warmly welcomed at the British Embassy following which we headed to Vaclavske Namesti and Cafe Louvre.

Sunday 22nd December at 11.00 hrs.– Service of Nine Lessons and Carols and Holy Communion

Sing traditional carols and hear again the good news of Christmas. It is a great opportunity to invite your irregular worshipping or non-worshipping friends to the church.

Please note that we don’t have Children’s Ministry until the beginning of January but kids are very welcome to attend the worship service. There will be a playmat and toys as usual at the back for the younger ones.

Also, we need volunteers for Coffee Hour this coming Sunday. If you can help please reply to this message.

Tuesday 24th December at 23.30 – Christmas Midnight Eucharist

At this service, our Gospel reading will be John 1.1-14, which will be our final reading at our Service of Lessons and Carols. This wonderful introduction to the Gospel of John, explains, what we celebrate at Christmas – The Incarnation – How the Word became flesh. The supporting readings will be Isaiah 52.7-10 and Hebrews 1.1-4.

The hymns are – Hark, the herald-angels sing Mendelssohn, Silent night Stille Nacht, O little town of Bethlehem Forest Green and O come, all ye faithful Adeste fideles

Wednesday 25th December at 11.00 – Family Eucharist for Christmas Day

During the service we will hear familiar Christmas story recorded by Saint Luke – Luke 2.1-20 describing the birth of Jesus. The supporting readings are Isaiah 9:2-7 and Titus 2:11-14.

The hymns are – Hark the herald-angels sing Mendelssohn, O little town of Bethlehem Forest Green, While shepherds watched their flocks by night Winchester Old and Joy to the World Antioch

There will be No Coffee Hour to let you all get home to enjoy your Christmas dinner.

Following our worship service on Christmas Day I will be on leave until the beginning of January.

Sunday 29th December at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the First Sunday of Christmas

The Gospel reading is Matthew 2.13-23 while the supporting readings are Psalm 148 and Hebrews 2.10-18Rev’d Ricky Yates has kindly agreed to be the celebrant and preacher on the First Sunday of Christmas.

I am happy to report that we managed to raise 5666 CZK from the Bake Sale last Sunday. Thanks to everyone who brought the baked goods and gave generously to support our ministry.

Christmas Cards with English text with all proceeds going towards supporting St. Clement’s and including our web address, are available for sale at the back of Church. There are three different designs and are only CZK 200 for a pack of 10.

Bishop Robert’s Advent Appeal. A copy of the appeal is on the noticeboard and the collection box is placed at the back of the church.
