Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

I am in the midst of hosting the annual meeting of the Eastern Archdeaconry Synod here in Prague. So this will have to be a very brief ‘Weekly Message’ with just three reminders.

Sunday 28th September at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Fifteenth Sunday after Trinity
Our Celebrant & Preacher will be our new Anglican Bishop in Europe, Rt. Rev’d Dr Robert Innes. He flies into Prague later today from attending the Italy & Malta Archdeaconry Synod meeting in Palermo. Biblical readings will be Ezekiel 18. 1-4 & 25-32, Philippians 2. 1-13 and Matthew 21. 23-32. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship, Cool Drinks & Light Refreshments will be served at the back of the Church.

Outing on the afternoon of Sunday 28th September
As I’ve written the past three weeks, on the afternoon of Sunday 28th September, following our Sung Eucharist with Bishop Robert marking the conclusion of the Eastern Archdeaconry Synod meeting, there will be an outing to visit the most remarkable Church at Slavětín nad Ohří. Full details are can be found here. Whilst the trip is being put on for Synod delegates, it also open to members of the St. Clement’s congregation and I hope that many of you will be interested in joining us for what should be a most fascinating and enjoyable afternoon. The cost will be 200 Kč per person. This will cover the cost of travel by coach, and for a further 100  Kč, the provision of Smažený sýr + hranolky + tatarská omáčka at our afternoon refreshment stop.

If you haven’t already booked & would like to come, please email Gordon Truefitt ASAP!

Tuesday 30th September 18.30-20.00 in the small meeting room on the first floor of Klimentská 18
The third in our series What should be the Christian response be to moral/ethical issues facing our world today? This was postponed last Tuesday. We are going to tackle the issue of Crime and punishment and hopefully try and answer the question, ‘Where is the place of Christian forgiveness? We’ll end our session by saying Evening Prayer together. If the ground floor door of Klimentská 18 is locked, press the bell marked Kancelář & we’ll buzz you in!

Please do join us on Sunday for what should be a wonderful service with our new bishop.

Best wishes

Ricky
