Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

It was good to see many of you at worship last Sunday. If you missed the service or would like to listen again to the challenging sermon by our guest preacher, Rev’d Barry Letson, then it is available by following this link . Barry & his wife Sue, have also asked me to thank the St. Clement’s congregation for the warm welcome they received from you all last Sunday.

Now to our worship this coming Sunday.

Sunday 23rd November at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Sunday next before Advent/Christ the King
This Sunday is the last one in the Christian or Church’s year and celebrates the kingship of Christ. Our Biblical readings will be Psalm 95. 1-7, where the Psalmist declares that, ‘The Lord is a great God, and a great king above all gods’; Ephesians 1. 15-23, part of St. Paul’s prayer for the Ephesian Christians in which he reminds them that Christ is seated at God’s right hand ‘in the heavenly places’; whilst our Gospel reading is Matthew 25. 31-46, the story told by Jesus about the sheep and the goats. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship, Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

Tuesday 25th November 18.30-20.00 in the small meeting room on the first floor of Klimentská 18
The third in a our study series entitled Difficult Parables, the one originally scheduled for last Tuesday. We will look at the parable of the shrewd manager as recorded in Luke 16. 1-15. What was Jesus trying to say? I’d welcome your ideas & not just mine! As we usually do, we’ll end our session by saying Evening Prayer together. If the ground floor door of Klimentská 18 is locked, press the bell marked Kancelář & we’ll buzz you in!

Taizé European Meeting of Young Adults –
29th December 2014 – 2nd January 2015 in Prague
Those of you who were with us last Sunday morning, will have heard Uli, a volunteer from the Taizé Community, speaking about this. Apparently, several of you expressed an interest in helping, particularly in providing accommodation. If you were one of these people, please can you drop me a quick email, or speak to me on Sunday, telling me when you might be available to meet with me & Uli, sometime during next week.

Helping the Salvation Army in their work with the homeless in Prague
The two collecting bins at the back of Church, one for tinned food, the other for warm winter clothing for both men & women, have been filling up nicely in recent weeks. But before I invite František to come and collect the contents, can we have one big push to fill them further, this coming Sunday?

Are you planning to buy Christmas presents from Amazon?
If you are, please don’t forget to use this link , and then go to either amazon.com or amazon.co.uk. A small commission will then come to St. Clement’s at no cost whatsoever to you!

Confirmation
I’ve recently heard from Archdeacon Patrick Curran, that our Anglican Diocesan Bishop Robert, will be visiting Christ Church, Vienna on Sunday 31st May 2015 and conducting a service of Confirmation. Patrick has asked me, along with those in charge of our Anglican congregations in Budapest, Ljubljana and Zagreb, that if we have any candidates for confirmation, they would be welcome to be confirmed in Vienna on that Sunday. Therefore, if you are interested in being prepared for confirmation, please speak to me or reply to this email, so we can plan appropriate preparation early in the New Year.
