Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

Just a very quick message this week. I promise a far longer one with more detail next week, in advance of my being away on holiday from Monday 24th June until Monday 8th July.

Phone and Internet at the Chaplaincy Flat & Office

Our landline non-provider O2, have still not repaired our phone and internet connection, more than 10 days after it became špatně. So it remains the case that if you need to contact me by phone, the only way to do so at present is to ring my mobile 737 039 082. Since last Sunday evening, we have had a form of internet connection, but not thanks to O2, but instead due to the kindness of our Czech neighbour Kamilla. We are currently, with her permission, piggybacking on her wifi network. It is slow & occasionally breaks up, and only works in the sitting room which is where I’ve had to migrate to work at present. But it does now mean that if you send me an email, you should get a fairly prompt response.

Sunday 16th June at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Third Sunday after Trinity

There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and Cool Refreshments will be served at the back of Church after the service.

Sunday 23rd June at 11.00 -Sung Eucharist for the Fourth Sunday after Trinity

There are two things to look forward to on Sunday 23rd June. Firstly, we will have a guest preacher, Rev’d Dr Peter Walker. Peter & I trained for ordained ministry together at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford between 1987-1989. Currently, he is Professor of Biblical Studies at Trinity School of Ministry, nr Pittsburgh, Pa in the United States.

Secondly, following worship, we will be having our annual Picnic-in-the-Park using the facilities of the well-equipped park on Lannova, between the Church & the Vltava River. There will be activities for children and the opportunity to share fellowship together, before many of the congregation go off on holiday &/or visit their home countries. Please bring picnic food that can be easily shared. More details in next week’s Weekly Message, but please plan to be there for what is always a most enjoyable occasion.

In the meantime, I hope to see many of you this coming Sunday at 11.00!

Best wishes

Ricky
