Dear Worshippers and Friends of St. Clement’s,
Please read the message till the end as it contains a lot of information.
I will be travelling to Bratislava tomorrow to meet Rev’d Frank Hegedus, our Area Dean, and Rev’d Patrick Curran, The Anglican Chaplain of Vienna. This is the reason this weekly message arrives a day earlier than usual. Do join us for the worship service on Sunday..
Sunday 9th June at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for Pentecost
As we have in the last few years, I invite you to come to Church on Pentecost Sunday, wearing something RED. Early in the service, we will hear the Pentecost story from Acts 2. 1-21, followed by the words, ‘The Lord is here. His Spirit is with us‘. I then would invite volunteers to say those same words, ‘The Lord is here. His Spirit is with us.‘ in as many languages as possible. If you can say those words in any language other than English, please let me know by replying to this email. The supporting reading is Romans 8. 14-17 which tells us what does the Holy Spirit do; whilst the Gospel Reading is a part of ‘the farewell discourse’ of Jesus given in John 14. 8-17 where he promises them “another Advocate”. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship, Cool Drinks & Light Refreshments will be served at the back of the Church.
The Hymns are Come, thou Holy Spirit, come Veni, Sancte Spiritus, O thou who camest from above Hereford, There’s a spirit in the air Lauds, Lord, the light of your love is shining Shine, Jesus, shine
There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship Refreshments will be served at the back of the church.
Then do not forget to join us on Thursday..

Thursday 13th June at 18.30 – Concert by Leicester University Chamber Choir

is also an opportunity to invite your friends interested in music but
who do not normally come to church. Make sure you offer to come with
someone.

The Diocese has a Brexit Resources Hub under the Brexit tab. You can access it by following the link https://europe.anglican.org/brexit/welcome-to-our-brexit-resources-hub-1. We join Bishop Robert in his appeal to pray at this time, especially for the decision-makers and the officials working on it.
Yours in His Service,
