Dear Worshippers and Friends of St. Clement’s,

Do join us this coming Sunday..

Sunday 7th October starting at 11.00 –Sung Eucharist for the Nineteenth Sunday after Trinity

The Gospel reading is Mark 10. 2-16 where the text consists of two pericopes; one deals with divorce and the other with the blessing of little children and the supporting readings are Job. 1. 1; 2. 1-10 In which the writer introduces us to the figure of Job and to his suffering and Hebrews 1. 1-4; 2. 5-12 where the writer first introduces Jesus as high priest and stress the exalted status of the son. But in the second part of the reading ( 2. 5-12) focuses on the lowliness of the Son and his identification with us.

There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship Cool Drinks and Refreshments will be served at the back of the church, as our host congregation will be using the hall on the third floor of Klimentska 18 the same time.

With it being the first Sunday of the month, I shall then be off to Brno, for our regular monthly service in Brno.

Sunday 7th October at 17.00 – Holy Communion for the Nineteenth Sunday after Trinity
The service will take place in our regular Brno venue –‘The Upper Room’, corner of Jezuitská and Mozartova, Brno.

Other important things..

Supporting the work of the Salvation Army with the homeless in Prague
A reminder that we need more tinned food – any form of food, but in a tin, so that we can get the bins emptied this coming week itself! No packets or bottles please!

The sermons from last three Sundays are now available to listen to on our church website. To access follow the link http://susanaj10.sg-host.com//sermons/. Thanks to David Hellam.

On Saturday 13th October, the chaplaincy is organising environment trip from Dejvicka-Nadrazi Podbaba-Troja(Zoo). If you are interested in joining contact Environment Officer Angela Hitchens busanga2000@yahoo.co.uk. More details to follow.

Many of you may have already noticed the rise in the weekly expenditure of the chaplaincy mentioned in our printed bulletin. For those of you who haven’t, the churchwardens have signed a new lease contract with our host congregation which has led to an increase of 2000 CZK per week making the new amount to 25,610 CZK. We were benefitted from the last lease contract for the last eight years and the new setting is for atleast six years. Other than some support we get from Intercontinental Church Society(ICS), we are largely self-supporting. May I urge you to pray and think about increasing your support to the church. Here is the link to the various options available to make donation together with the contact details of the Treasurer, in the event you would like to discuss anything further, http://susanaj10.sg-host.com//about-us/finances/.

A few Sundays back, volunteers found Bible (NRSV) in the pew before closing the church. Though some of the details are mentioned on the first page but we are not able to identify to whom it belongs. If you forgot your Bible last Sunday or know someone who did, do connect them to me.

The Diocesan Prayer Diary is no longer a European Anglican insert but is available for online access and as a download for local printing on the following link <https://emea01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Feurope.anglican.org%2Fprayer-diary%2Fprayer-diary-introduction&data=01%7C01%7Cbron.panter%40churchofengland.org%7C31e3d6da265346a42d9508d609c7f171%7C95e2463b3ab047b49ac1587c77ee84f0%7C0&sdata=CCXbYnIzKHZ2IE1z4hRhJUBASmDo5CzbyHxN7yi0S5A%3D&reserved=0>  It is also available direct to smartphones and tablets using the PrayerMate app.
