Dear Worshippers and Friends of St. Clement’s,
Today is the Night of Churches in Prague when a number of churches in the city will be open for worship, guided tours and concerts. St. Kliment, where we worship, is also one of the many participating churches. The following website has all the listings and information https://www.nockostelu.cz/.
Do join us on Sunday..
Sunday 26th May at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Sixth Sunday of Easter
Our Gospel reading is John 14. 23-29 where Jesus tells his disciples two elements of reality that are
difficult to hold together: he is going away, yet he will not leave them
orphaned. The supporting readings are Acts 16. 9-15 in which St. Paul is being summoned in a vision to visit Macedonia thus they cross the border over into Europe and bring the Gospel to Europe for the first time. And, we shall also say Psalm 67 responsively which is indeed a liturgy of blessing. Our preacher will be Rev’d Ricky Yates. There will also be A Child Baptism during the service.
The Hymns are 573 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty Lobe den Herren, 127 Come, thou Holy Spirit, come Veni Sancte Spiritus, 658 There is a Redeemer , 137 Crown him with many crowns Diademata
There will be parallel Children’s Ministry, and following worship, Refreshments will be served at the back of the church as the hall on the third floor of Klimentska 18 is undergoing repair once again and will not be available for two consecutive Sundays. The Church Council meeting will also be held after the service.
Then do make every effort to join us on Thursday..
Thursday 30th May at 19.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Ascension Day
Although
not a public holiday in the Czech Republic, I do hope many of you will
still join us to mark this important day and celebrate the Ascension of
Jesus into heaven at the end of his forty days of resurrection
appearances.
Other important things…
