Dear Worshippers, Friends and Patrons of St. Clement’s,

Do join us..

Sunday 25th March at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for Palm Sunday
As well as hearing Mark’s account of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem as recorded in Mark 11. 1-11, we shall also hear from the prophet Isaiah – Isaiah 50. 4-9a, together with some Christology from Philippians 2. 5-11. Palm Crosses will be distributed. Our Preacher will be David Hellam. There will be Bring n Share Lunch in the hall on the third floor of Klimentska 18. However, if you are unable to find time to get something for the lunch, do not hesitate to join. We look forward to have fellowship with you and the food will surely be sufficient.

Then.. early notice.. you will receive another message next week with more information about the following services..

Thursday 29th March at 16.15 – Sung Eucharist commemorating Maundy Thursday
Our host congregation will have service after us, so we have it at unusual time but I hope many of you are able to attend. Leeds University Chamber Choir will join us for this service.

We will hear about the origins of the Jewish Passover meal with our first reading from Exodus 12. 1-14. Our second reading will be 1 Corinthians 11. 23-26, where St Paul reminds the Corinthian Church about Jesus’ words and actions at the Last Supper, instituting what we know as Holy Communion or the Eucharist. Our Gospel reading will be John 13. 1-17 & 31b-35, which tells of Jesus washing the disciples feet & giving a new commandment, ‘that you love one another just as I have loved you’.

Friday 30th March at 14.00 – Last Hour on the Cross
Good Friday Service to mark Jesus’ Last Hour on the Cross. Licensed Reader Jack Noonan will give a short reflection. The service will be very similar to the one we had last year, with the Passion story being read, interspersed with congregational hymns and a time of short reflection and prayers. Before celebrating the joy of Easter make sure you come and sit at the foot of the cross.

Sunday 1st April at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for Easter

More details to follow..

Other important things for this week…

Annual Church Meeting (ACM) and the Church Electoral Roll (CER)

Our ACM will be held following worship, on Sunday 22nd April 2018. To be eligible to either stand for election to the Church Council, and/or vote at the ACM, you need to be a member of the CER. A copy of the current CER is pinned on the noticeboard at the back of the Church. The Church Council will go through the current CER and delete the names of those we know who no longer reside in the Czech Republic, as we are allowed to do, and a revised CER will then be posted.
However, if you joined the congregation in the last year or two and are not on the current CER, now is the time to apply to join. If you are a baptised Anglican/Episcopalian/Old Catholic, you can apply straight away. If you are a baptised member of another Christian Church which believes in the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, and have ‘habitually worshipped’ at St. Clement’s for at least the last six months, then you too are eligible to apply. Forms to do so are in a folder, attached to the noticeboard at the back of the Church, alongside the current CER. Completed application forms must be returned to me, no later than 30th March – Good Friday, which would make the revision of the CER easier.
Please note – filling out a Newcomers’ Form in our Welcome Booklet, got you onto my email circulation list, but does NOT put your name on the CER. You have to apply using the correct form in the folder on the noticeboard. I am happy to share that I have already received ten forms and we look forward to have many of you, the eligible ones, on the electoral roll.

My sermon from last Sunday is now available to listen to on our church website. To listen follow the link.

Celebratory Prayer for birthdays and wedding anniversaries or any other such occasion is a part of our regular service. You are invited to send to me the details of your birthday or any special occasion for which you would like us to pray, by email to me.

And finally.. Do not forget that tomorrow night….the clocks go FORWARD one hour! Don’t be late getting to Church & arrive in time only for the Blessing.

Yours in His Service,
Nathanial
