Dear Worshippers and Friends of St. Clement’s,

A number of people signed-up for our weekly mailing list but have not confirmed the status through e-notification that was sent automatically by the system and have, thus, not been receiving our weekly messages. I do hear from people occasionally telling that they have not received any communication from my side since many months now; actually since May 2018 when we moved to a different way of sending the weekly messages to be able to comply with the GDPR. If you know of any person in a similar situation, please forward this message asking them to get in touch with me or to subscribe here once again http://susanaj10.sg-host.com//newsletter-5/ to stay updated with Chaplaincy News.

Now coming to this Sunday..

Sunday 17th February at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Third Sunday before Lent

The Gospel reading is Luke 6. 17-26 where we read Luke’s version of the sermon on the mount but known as sermon on the plain and the supporting readings are Jeremiah 17. 5-10 where the prophet offers a sobering commentary concerning the two different ways of life, or a contrast of lifestyles and 1 Corinthians 15. 12-20 in which Paul once again writes about the resurrection of the dead.

There will be parallel Children’s Ministry, and following worship, Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

Tuesday 19th February from 18.30 to 20.00 – Pre-Lent Bible Study

In the hall on the first floor of Klimentska 18, we meet this coming Tuesday for Bible Study on Prophet Jonah. The following two Tuesdays we will discuss about Prophet Hosea and Malachi respectively. This will be followed by Study of the Book of Romans for six consecutive Tuesdays in Lent.

You are welcome to join and to spread the word to your family and friends should they be interested in exploring from the Bible with an opportunity to meet new people, deepen relationships and talk about your faith. If the door of the main building is locked, press the bell marked Sborový Kancelář and we will buzz you in!

Other important things..

Thanks to John Noonan for preaching Sunday before last. His sermon is now available to read on the church website by following the link http://susanaj10.sg-host.com//3rd-february-2019-fifth-sunday-after-epiphany-john-noonan/ and my sermon from last Sunday is also available to read on the church website on the following link http://susanaj10.sg-host.com//10th-february-2019-sung-eucharist-for-fourth-sunday-before-lent-revd-nathanial/.

Just last week, I was with our Area Dean Rev’d Frank Hegedus of Budapest and Rev’d Patrick Curran of Vienna in Brno for a meeting. They have sent their greetings to everyone in the chaplaincy.

As I informed in my last weekly messages the chaplaincy’s electoral roll is due to be completely revised, this year. This would mean every member already on the electoral roll and those willing to join new should fill the membership form which are available at the back of the church on the noticeboard, with  the Chaplaincy’s Electoral Roll Officer Sue Entzinger and is also available for download on the church website by following the link http://susanaj10.sg-host.com//wp-content/uploads/2013/01/ER-New.pdf and either hand it over to Sue or to me  on Sunday. It is also possible to send it via post to my address latest by 29th March 2019 as the final electoral roll has to be completed atleast fifteen days before the ACM. In the last Church Council meeting it was decided to hold the Annual Church Meeting(ACM) on Sunday 14th April 2019 following our worship service.

The Ash Wednesday Service will be held on 6th March starting at 18.00. If you have Palm Crosses from last year(s) and would like to offer them for the preparation of Ash for this service. Please bring them with you to church this Sunday or the next.

A few people from the congregation discussed with me the possibility of having a Messy Church and in the last council meeting we talked about the same. The good news is that our Secretary and Children’s Ministry Leader David Hellam is working on organizing it. As soon as everything is confirmed I will update you. In the meantime, it would it worth sharing it with those who may be interested in this especially the ones who for any reason find it difficult to attend our regular church service.

If it was/is your birthday or wedding anniversary or any other special occasion last week or the coming week, we would be happy to share your joy and pray for you. You are invited to send to me the details by email to this address.

Yours in His Service,

Nathanial
