Dear Worshippers and Friends of St. Clement’s,
I hope that all of you who have been in Prague this past week, have been enjoying the snow. Although the forecast does promise that it will be a few degrees warmer this coming Sunday with a few showers, I encourage you to wrap up well for Church and be there for the worship service.
Sunday 13th January starting at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Baptism of Christ
Having reflected last Sunday, on Jesus being ‘made manifest’ to the Wise Men, representing the Gentiles, this coming Sunday we shall hear about him being ‘made manifest’ at his baptism – the beginning of his public ministry. Our Old Testament reading will be Isaiah 43. 1-7 and the New Testament reading will be Acts 8.14-17. The Gospel Reading will be Luke 3. 15-17, 21&22 where Luke pictures John the Baptist as an end-time prophet who announced the coming of Christ.
There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship, Refreshments at the back of the church as our host congregation will be using the hall on the third floor of Klimentska 18. The church council meeting will also be held on Sunday after the worship service.
Other important things..
Many thanks to David Hellam for helping record the sermon from last Sunday which is now up on the church website. The link ishttp://susanaj10.sg-host.com//6th-january-2019-epiphany-sunday-revd-nathanial-bm/.
Thanks to those of you who contributed for the Salvation Army’s work among homeless in Prague. Our Churchwarden Gordon Truefitt, yesterday, arranged to get the contents of the bins collected. The two bins for clothing and tinned food now need refilling.
Photographs from the Ecumenical Service of Remembrance held on 10th November 2018 are now available on the church website on the following link http://susanaj10.sg-host.com//ecumenical-service-of-remembrance-10th-november-2018-photos/. In addition to this, CDs containing the audio recording of the entire service and pictures are also available at the back of the church.
If it was/is your birthday or wedding anniversary or any other special occasion last week or the coming week, we would be happy to share your joy and pray for you. You are invited to send to me the details by email to this address.
Yours in His Service,
Nathanial
