Dear Worshippers, Friends and Patrons of St. Clement’s,
Thanks to David Hellam for preaching and to <name> for playing organ and to all those who attended the service last Sunday. We had a fairly good number keeping in mind Prague Marathon was being held and there was a public holiday on Tuesday.
Now.. Today is Ascension Day, an important but much neglected festival in the Christian Year. I encourage you to join us tonight..
Thursday 10th May at 19.00 – Sung Eucharist for Ascension Day
Although not a public holiday in The Czech Republic, I do hope many of you will still join us to mark this important day and celebrate the Ascension of Jesus into heaven at the end of his forty days of resurrection appearances.
Then follows one Sunday that falls between Ascension Day and Pentecost Sunday..
Sunday 13th May at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Seventh Sunday of Easter
The Gospel Reading is John 17. 6-19 which comprises a central section of Jesus’ High Priestly Prayer where He prays for His disciple and the supporting readings are Acts 1. 15-17, 21-26 which tell of how Judas the betrayer was replaced by Matthias as the 12th apostle and 1 John 5. 9-13 where John asserts the advantage of believers’ faith in eternal life. Our preacher will be Licensed Reader Jack Noonan. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentska 18.
