On Sunday 5th May at 11am, we will have a Joint Eucharist with the Old Catholic Churches in Prague.

The service will follow the Anglican liturgy. Some parts will be in Czech but the Order of Service booklets will have the complete text in both English & Czech. Ricky our Chaplain will be the preacher and Bishop Dušan of the Old Catholic Church in the Czech Republic will be the celebrant. The service will be held in Sv Vavřinec Old Catholic Cathedral on Petřín Hill. Please do not confuse this with the  RC Cathedral within Prague Castle!
Following the service, the Old Catholics are very kindly laying on a buffet at the rear of the Cathedral, offering an opportunity for some ecumenical fellowship.
The best way to reach the Cathedral is by using the funicular railway from Ưjezd. Maps and directions are below. The Old Catholics have also offered to provide a minibus shuttle service from a convenient point, direct to the Cathedral door, for anyone who needs it. Please contact the Chaplain on (00420) 233 310 266 or (00420) 737 039 082 if you would like to avail yourself of this offer.
This is the return service to the one which we had at St. Clement’s in 2011 when all four of the Old Catholic Churches in Prague closed down & their congregations came to worship with us at St. Clements.

How to get to the Old Catholic Cathedral

Please see map below to see the location of the Old-Catholic Cathedral on Petřin hill (It is the little church icon, just above of the word Petrin on the map.) To find the best public transport connection, please go to the DPP website (click here, opens in new window). The most common location you have to put in is Újezd / Ujezd as the starting point and Petrín / Petrin as the end point. If you have any questions about how to get to the joint service, please don’t hesitate to contact the Chaplain at (00420) 233 310 266 or (00420) 737 039 082, write an email to chaplain (at) anglican dot cz or leave a comment on this post. See you all on Sunday!

PS As the Chaplain and his wife are trying to lose weight, it would be great if we would have some help from fellow St. Clements Christians to devour the after-service buffet ;-)
