Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

There is plenty going on at St. Clement’s in the coming days, so here is a reminder about what is happening with some additional details

Sunday 11th September at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Sixteenth Sunday after Trinity
Our Old Testament reading on Sunday will be Exodus 32. 7-14. It tells of Moses pleading with God, not to destroy the Children of Israel who had rebelled against God and were worshipping a golden calf. Our second reading comes from St Paul’s first letter to Timothy – 1 Timothy 1. 12-17, where Paul speaks of experiencing ‘the grace of our Lord (which) overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus’. We shall hear more from this letter on the following two Sundays too. Our Gospel reading, Luke 15. 1-10, recounts two of the most loved parables of Jesus – the Lost Sheep and the Lost Coin.

There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship, Cool Drinks & Light Refreshments will be served at the back of the Church.

There will then be the Parish Outing to Slavětín nad Ohří, leaving St. Clement’s at 13.00 and returning no later than 20.00. Churchwarden Stephen Weeks, has already sent around a reminder about this. If you haven’t yet booked, please do so ASAP. Email c@stles.org with ‘Slavětín visit’ in the subject line, or text/call 606 400 800.

Tuesday 13th September 18.30-20.00 in the small meeting room on the first floor of Klimentská 18
Welcome to Prague – What every English-speaking expat needs to know when living in the Czech Republic. We resume our regular Tuesday evening get-togethers over light refreshments. The aim of this first evening is for ‘old hands’ and newcomers to talk together about the joys & pitfalls of living as English-speaking expats in Prague. For the ‘old hands’ to share their experiences of what to do or not to do & for newcomers to be able to ask questions. Churchwarden Gordon Truefitt, has promised to provide ‘a glass or three of Gordon’s Summer Punch’ which should give reason enough for attending :-) If the ground floor door of Klimentská 18 is locked, press the bell marked Kancelář & we’ll buzz you in!

Sunday 18th September at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Seventeenth Sunday after Trinity

More details in next week’s ‘Weekly Message’.

Two More things for this week…..

My sermon from last Sunday has now been uploaded to our Church website. If you would like to listen to it again, please follow this link:

Further to my ‘Second Sermon’ of last Sunday morning and my reminder email, we now have everything covered on our rota until the end of September, with one exception. We still need someone to oversee Cool Drinks and Light Refreshments at the back of the Church, on Sunday 18th September. If you would be willing to do this or if you need to know more about what is involved, please contact me ASAP.

Until Sunday

Best wishes

Ricky
