Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

This coming Sunday is the third most important festival in the Christian Year. So do please plan to join us for

Sunday 8th June at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Feast of Pentecost
We will once more hear the account of the first disciples being empowered by the Holy Spirit, as recorded in Acts 2. 1-21. The other two readings will be 1 Corinthians 12. 3b-13 and John 7. 37-39.

As has happened the last couple of years on the Feast of Pentecost, at the end of the reading of the story of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the response ‘The Lord is here. His Spirit is with us’, is going to said in a variety of languages. Unless I hear back negatively from someone between now & Sunday morning, I think I’ve got the following languages covered – Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, German, Greek, French & Welsh. However, if you are willing & able to add to these ‘tongues’, please get in touch and I’ll happily add you to the list!

I’m expecting quite a number of visitors this Sunday, not least because of the 20th anniversary celebrations at Riverside School this weekend. Certainly my predecessor as Chaplain, Canon John Philpott has let me know that he will be in Prague for the celebrations & I’ve invited him to join us for worship on Sunday morning. The Church website has also had a good number of hits this week which usually means that visiting tourists are looking for us

There will be parallel Children’s Ministry led jointly by David Hellem and my wife Sybille. Sybille will be talking with the children about pilgrimage and St. James. Following worship, Cool Drinks & Light Refreshments will be served at the back of the Church.

This will be Sybille’s last Sunday for at least 4+ months as she plans to set out on her walking pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela on Monday morning. So do come and wish her !Buen Camino! on Sunday. If you want to know more about her journey, then visit her website. If you are interested in sponsoring some of her kilometres, then there is a sign-up sheet on our noticeboard at the back of Church & more details on her website.

Looking ahead over the summer months……..
………. I’m very concious that many of you will be away from Prague for a number weeks during June, July & August. But except for when I will be away for two weeks in August, I will be here in Prague and am always happy to meet up with members of the congregation, for coffee, for a meal, or for a more serious pastoral conversation. Don’t be afraid to ask, either by phone, email or in person.

Until Sunday

Best wishes

Ricky
