Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

I look forward to seeing many of you at worship this coming Sunday.

Sunday 6th March at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Fourth Sunday of Lent
Our Gospel reading on Sunday is probably one of the most well-known and most loved parables of Jesus – the Prodigal Son: Luke 15. 1-3 & 11b-32. However, it really should be called the Parable of the Two Sons, as it is as much about the elder brother as it is about the younger one   The supporting readings will be 2 Corinthians 5. 16-21, which also has an important message regarding reconciliation, together with Psalm 32 which we will say responsively. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry, and following worship, Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

It being the first Sunday of the month, following Coffee Hour, I will be off down the D1 for our regular monthly service in Brno.

Sunday 6th March at 17.00 – Holy Communion for the Fourth Sunday of Lent  in ‘The Upper Room’, corner of Jezuitská and Mozartova, Brno.
As I’ve said before, if any of you have English-speaking friends or family living in the South Moravia area, do tell them about our Brno services.

During the coming week….

Tuesday 8th March – 18.30-20.00 in the small meeting room on the first floor of Klimentská 18 – Lent Course
Our Lent Course entitled ‘Life Attitudes’ – studying the Beatitudes, continues with its fourth session. If the outside door of Klimentská 18 is locked, please press the bell marked Kancelář & you’ll be buzzed in!

Then next Sunday……

Sunday 13th March at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Fifth Sunday of Lent-Passion Sunday
Our preacher will be Rev’d Dr Karen Moritz. More details in next week’s ‘Weekly Message’.

Collecting tinned food and warm winter clothing to support the work of the Salvation Army with the homeless in Prague
The red wheelie bin at the back of the Church for clothing, is full to overflowing  – Thank you. I’ll seek to arrange to get the contents collected some time next week. But there are very few tins in the ‘tins wheelie bin!’ Please can we have plenty of clunks on Sunday to start correcting the situation!

And three other things for this week…..

Last Sunday’s sermon – My apologies that a recording of this is not yet up on our Church website. Unfortunately David Hellam had some technical problems with the recording which he tells me, he is trying to resolve, but that is the reason for the delay.

The new ICS News & Prayer Diary for March-June 2016 arrived safely in the post earlier this week. Copies will be available free on the table at the back of Church on Sunday.

My ‘Postcard from Prague’  has finally been published on the Church of England/Church of Scotland blog entitled Reimagining Europe. You can find it here:

You may well enjoy reading other contributions on the blog, including one from our former Archdeacon Patrick Curran.

Until Sunday

Best wishes

Ricky
