Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

My ‘Weekly Message’ this week, highlights three important forthcoming events.

Sunday 5th June at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Second Sunday after Trinity
This coming Sunday, the reading from the Old Testament is very much related to the Gospel reading. We shall hear 1 Kings 17. 17-24, which tells of the bringing back to life by the prophet Elijah, of the son of a widow who lived in Zarephath. Luke 7. 11-17 tells of Jesus raising back to life the son of another widow, who lived in the Galilean village of Nain. In between, we will hear our second instalment of St. Paul’s letter to the Galatians – Galatians 1. 11-24 – where he recounts his past life a persecutor of the early Church before his conversion to Christianity and his subsequent proclamation of the Christian Faith. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship, Cool Drinks & Light Refreshments will be served at the back of the Church.

Sunday 12th June at 11.00 – Service of Thanksgiving, Eucharist & followed by a ‘Picnic in the Park’
A real opportunity to invite English-speakers, especially Brits & citizens of other Commonwealth countries, who don’t normally come to Church. Make sure you offer to come with them! The poster below is also attached as a pdf file which you can either print out or attach to an email invitation. We have fifty copies of the book, ‘The Servant Queen and the King she serves‘ to give away. The book has been especially produced to mark this occasion and speaks of Her Majesty’s Christian faith, using words from her broadcast speeches.
