Dear Worshippers, Friends and Patrons of St. Clement’s,

Thanks to everyone who participated in the service last Sunday. We had an amazing congregation of eighty four in total – bearing in mind that we normally average at around fifty.

This coming Sunday is Advent Sunday, marking the beginning of the Church Year or Christian Year. Therefore, do plan to join us for worship this Sunday, as we begin, through the Advent Sunday, to prepare ourselves to celebrate once more, the coming of Christ into the world.

Sunday 3rd December at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the First Sunday of Advent

The Gospel Reading is Mark 13.24-37 whilst the supporting readings are Isaiah 64.1-9 and 1 Corinthians 3.1-9. Our preacher will be Licensed Reader Jack Noonan. With the Advent Sunday, we move from Year A to Year B in our three-year cycle of lectionary readings. What this means is over the next twelve months, on most Sundays, our Gospel readings will be taken from the Gospel according to Mark.

We shall, as we do each year, benefit by having a wonderful Advent Ring hanging behind the Altar, provided for us by our host congregation, with the first candle lit. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship, Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentska 18.

It being the first Sunday of the month, after our service in Prague, we will go to Brno for our regular monthly service.

Sunday 3rd December at 17.00 in Brno – Holy Communion with Hymns for the First Sunday of Advent

If you are interested in joining us to celebrate the Advent Sunday with our congregation in Brno, please let me know by tomorrow noon. It would be great to share the joy of the season and to build up more of a connection between the two congregations.

Tuesday 5th December at 18.00 in the small meeting room on the first floor of Klimentska 18

Join us for an evening of Advent Meditations led by David Hellam on Light of the World(working with lights). This will be the first of the three Tuesdays we will be exploring the Christmas message through craft activities. All craft materials will be provided. If the outside door of Klimentska 18 is locked, please press the bell marked ‘Kancelář’ and you will be buzzed in.
