Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

As I promised last week, my usual Weekly Message is going out earlier this week because I’m off to Athens to attend the annual meeting of our Eastern Archdeaconry Synod. However, thanks to the joys of modern technology, I am able to write this message whilst travelling. I’m currently sitting in Geneva Airport awaiting my flight onwards to Athens. And I’ve discovered that not everything in Switzerland is expensive as the airport has wifi internet access for free!

Last Sunday…….

….our celebrant and preacher was Bishop Dušan Hejbal of the Old Catholic Church in the Czech Republic. If you weren’t there and want to hear &/or read his sermon, or if you were there and want to hear it again, then courtesy of the technical wizardry of David Hellam and my wife, it now available on our website. Just click on this link.

If you do so, you will also find some photographs of the occasion, taken by Monika from the Old Catholics, and a link to further photos on their website.

Talking about our website….

…..our Webmaster and I would like to know a bit more about how much people use it, how often they visit it & what you would like to see done better or differently. Therefore, our Webmaster aka Sybille, has devised a simple questionnaire to solicit you views. It will only take a few minutes to complete & is completely anonymous unless you want to reveal your identity You can find the questionnaire by clicking on this link

A very important letter from our Church Treasurer…..

…….is available here. Your Church Council, which agreed to the content of the letter at its meeting last Sunday, also agreed that we would send out electronically both to get it circulated quickly and to save costs. Please click on the links and read content carefully. Gordon asks for responses to be sent to him by email and his new email address is

gordontruefitt(at)yahoo(dot)co(dot)uk

I am very aware that my email circulation list is large and contains many people who are no longer in Prague but still like to keep up-to-date with what is happening at St. Clement’s. Equally, there are three people who will be receiving this Weekly Message for the first time. Whatever your situation, please do read both parts of Gordon’s letter and act upon whichever parts apply to you.

This coming Sunday 30th September……..

……..although I, along with Gordon Truefit & Jack Noonan, will be in Athens, there will still be a Sung Eucharist at 11.00 with parallel Children’s Ministry. Your celebrant & preacher will be ThDr Petr Jan Vinš, a young fluent English-speaking priest from the Old Catholic Church in the Czech Republic who has now officiated for us on several occasions in the past few years. Please make every effort to be there & make Petr welcome at St. Clements.

I’m being told that the battery on my laptop is getting low & it will hibernate in a moment. Therefore, before it does, I’d better send this message

Until I return from Athens

Best wishes

Ricky
