Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

This is going to be one of the shortest ‘Weekly Messages’ I’ve sent out for a long time, as I’ve been somewhat otherwise distracted today, for reasons I’ll explain very shortly. So very quickly:

Jack Noonan’s sermon from last Sunday is now available both to listen to & read here .

Worship this coming Sunday…..

Sunday 28th February at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Third Sunday of Lent
Our Old Testament reading will be Isaiah 55. 1-9 where prophet encourages us to, ‘Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near’. Our New Testament reading, 1 Corinthians 10. 1-13, ends with words very appropriate to this season of Lent – ‘God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will provide the way out so you may be able to endure it’. Our Gospel reading, Luke 13. 1-9, is a passage unique to Luke and is a reminder to us to repent of our own sins, rather than thinking that there are people who are worse sinners than we are! There will be parallel Children’s Ministry, and following worship, Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

Following Coffee Hour, your Church Council will be meeting and as always, would appreciate your prayers for their deliberations.

Tuesday 1st March – 18.30-20.00 in the small meeting room on the first floor of Klimentská 18 – Lent Course
Our Lent Course entitled ‘Life Attitudes’ – studying the Beattitudes, continues with its third session. If the outside door of Klimentská 18 is locked, please press the bell marked Kancelář & you’ll be buzzed in!

Collecting tinned food and warm winter clothing to support the work of the Salvation Army with the homeless in Prague
The red wheelie bin for clothing is all but full – Thank you. I’ll seek to arrange to get the contents collected some time next week. But there are very few tins in the ‘tins wheelie bin!’ Please can we have plenty of clunks on Sunday to start correcting the situation!

And why have I been distracted today? You can find the answer here :-)

Until Sunday

Best wishes

Ricky
