Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

There are two important events that are happening this coming Sunday.

Sunday 28th June at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Fourth Sunday after Trinity
Our Old Testament reading will be Lamentations 3. 22-33 which reminds us that, ‘The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end’. Our New Testament reading is a further section of St. Paul’s most passionate letter, 2 Corinthians 8. 7-15. The Gospel reading, Mark 5. 21-43, describes two intertwined miracles of Jesus – the healing of the woman suffering with constant haemorrhages and the raising to life of the daughter of Jairus. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry.

It being the nearest Sunday to the twenty-fifth anniversary of my ordination as priest, during our worship, I will also publicly renew my ordination vows with Jack Noonan and Rev’d Dr Karen Moritz again asking me the questions which were originally put to me by my ordaining bishop Rt Rev’d John Taylor on 1st July 1990, in the Cathedral & Abbey Church of St. Alban, St. Albans, UK.

Summer Picnic in the Park
Then a reminder that following worship, there will be a Summer Picnic in the Park. A colour flyer can be found here. The idea is that you can print out copies to invite your friends to come and join you, putting your contact details in the box at the bottom! Please think seriously who you could invite. Please bring picnic food that can be shared, enough for you and a bit extra, so we can also invite visitors to Church to join us as well. Paper plates, plastic cups, paper serviettes etc will be provided as there is a good supply of these sitting in the vestry. The weather forecast is good!

Tuesday 30th June – 18.30-20.00 in the small meeting room on the first floor of Klimentská 18.
Whilst our regular Tuesday Evening Study Group sessions are now in abeyance until September, there will be a meeting this coming Tuesday led by Sybille, for anyone who wants to explore ‘A Taste of Pilgrimage’ by walking part of the Ecumenical Pilgrims Way in Germany. If the outside door of Klimentská 18 is locked, please press the bell marked Kancelář & you’ll be buzzed in!

Three other things to mention……

Sermon recording – our technical guru David Hellam, has resolved the electrical problem I mentioned in last week’s ‘Weekly’ and successfully recorded my sermon of last Sunday morning. It is now available to listen to on our Church website here

Salvation Army wheelie bins at the back of the Church where we collect tinned food and warm winter clothing for both men & women – I am meeting František from the Salvation Army tomorrow afternoon at Church, so he can collect the contents of both wheelie bins. Therefore both bins will be empty on Sunday & ready to be refilled. Whilst clothing is less of an issue at this time of year, tinned food is always needed. Let’s hear a few clunks from tins being deposited this coming Sunday.

Intercontinental Church Society (ICS) – Copies of the new ICS News & Prayer Diary for July-October, arrived yesterday and will be available free at the back of Church on Sunday.

Until Sunday…..

Best wishes

Ricky
