You are receiving this message either because your email address was on a list given to me by my Churchwarden Alan Schmidt, of what he called ‘Functioning Parish email addresses’, or because I’ve met you during the five weeks Sybille & I have been in Prague & you’ve given me your email address in order that I may contact you.

I understand that my predecessor, Canon John Philpott, used to send out a ‘Mid-week Message’ by email. It is something that I intend to re-start doing though this first attempt is more of an ‘End-of-the-Week Message’ rather than one of the Mid-week variety!

* Firstly, a reminder to everyone that this weekend marks the end of ‘Summertime’ or ‘Daylight Saving’ all across Europe. The clocks go BACK one hour during Saturday night/Sunday morning. So don’t arrive at Church one hour early or you will walk in on the Czech Brethren service! Enjoy an extra hour in bed instead!
* Secondly, the service on this coming Sunday (26th) will include the baptism of Tom Aleksander ARCHER, the son of David & Maja ARCHER. Please join us to welcome a new member into the family of the Church.
* Thirdly, a reminder that I will be formally instituted & licensed on Tuesday 28th October at 10am at St Clements. The Principal Celebrant at the service that morning will be Bishop Dušan of the Old Catholic Church and the preacher will be our Archdeacon Patrick Curran from Vienna. Please do come and join me in worship and prayer at the formal start of my ministry with you here in Prague.
* Fourthly, because of the service on Tuesday & with many people involved in education being on holiday/vacation, there will not be an evening Bible Study on Thursday 30th October. The group will resume meeting on Thursday 6th November.

I look forward to seeing you both on Sunday & Tuesday

Best wishes

Rick
