We are in Holy Week, therefore

Today, Maundy Thursday 24th March at 19.00 – Eucharist commemorating the Last Supper
We will hear the story of the first Passover from Exodus 12. 1-14, together with the words of institution of Holy Communion as recorded by St Paul in 1 Corinthians 11. 23-26. Our Gospel reading will be John 13, 1-17 & 31-35 which tells of Jesus washing the disciples feet and saying, ‘I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another’.

As Good Friday is now a public holiday in the Czech Republic, our service will begin at 14.00/2pm and mark the ‘Last Hour on the Cross‘. We will be joined by the ‘Anonym Choir‘ under the direction of our regular organist Professor Michal Novenko. Full details can be found here

Our readings will be Acts 10. 34-43, which records St Peter preaching about the death and resurrection of Jesus to the relatives and friends of Cornelius, the Roman centurion, together with part of a great chapter all about resurrection – 1 Corinthians 15. 19-26. Our Gospel reading will be St. John’s account of the resurrection of Jesus – John 20. 1-18. Please note that there will NOT be parallel Children’s Ministry but I do promise to keep the sermon short! Within the service, I will be baptising Julia Elizabeth Rovny, the daughter of Jan & Allison Rovny who I married at St. Clements in September 2010. After Coffee Hour, I will be off down the D1 to Brno for
