Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

Yes! Sybille & I are back in Prague and I look forward to being your Celebrant & Preacher once again, this coming Sunday. Our worship on Sunday will include two baptisms. We also finally stop counting Sundays after Trinity :-)

Sunday 25th October at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Last Sunday after Trinity, with Baptism
As well as the responsive Psalm – Psalm 126, we will have a further reading from the Letter to the Hebrews – Hebrews 7. 23-28 where Jesus is described as our holy, blameless and undefiled High Priest  who offered himself ‘once for all’ for our sins. The Gospel reading will be Mark 10. 46-52 – the story of the healing by Jesus, of a blind man called Bartimaeus. During the service, I will baptise Barbora and Patrik Gardiner, the twin children of Chris & Tereza Gardiner. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and Cool Drinks & Light Refreshments will be served at the back of Church, following worship. We will also have Remembrance poppies available on Sunday & on the following two Sundays.

Please remember that on Saturday night, the clocks go BACK one hour. Therefore nobody will have any excuse for arriving at Church late!

Tuesday 27th October – 18.30-20.00 in the small meeting room on the first floor of Klimentská 18.
Our regular Tuesday evening meetings for Study and Fellowship resume, looking at St. Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians. Picking up from where we reached on Tuesday 6th October, we will be looking at 1 Corinthian 5. As we normally do, the last 15-20 minutes will be spent saying Evening Prayer together. If the outside door of Klimentská 18 is locked, please press the bell marked Kancelář & you’ll be buzzed in!

Sunday 1st November at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for All Saints Day
This year, the great feast of All Saints falls on a Sunday and we will celebrate it accordingly, not least by singing the wonderful hymn ‘For all the saints’. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship, now the weather is turning colder, Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

Sunday 1st November at 17.00 – Holy Communion with hymns
This will take place in our usual venue, ‘The Upper Room’, corner of Jezuitská and Mozartova, Brno.

Taizé Prayer Service
Many of you will know of the Ecumenical Community based at Taizé in France and will be familiar with some of the Taizé chants. There is now a regular Taizé Prayer Service being held in Prague on the first Monday evening of each month in St Martin’s in the Wall Church. Full details, in both Czech & English, can be found here.
Until Sunday

Best wishes

Ricky
