Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

A big ‘Thank you’ to everybody who helped to make both our services last Sunday go so smoothly. Particular thanks to Maddie Crook who masterminded the seasonal refreshments following our evening Service of Lessons & Carols and to everyone who contributed ‘nibbles’.

For those of you still in Prague over Christmas, a reminder of our services over this coming Christmas weekend.

Sunday 23rd December at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Fourth Sunday of Advent.

Our preacher on Sunday morning will be Jack Noonan and he will be focussing on the Magnificat or Song of Mary found in Luke 1. 46-55 which is the canticle set for this Sunday. There will be Coffee Hour following the service in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18. My thanks to Tasci Gibson who is running Coffee Hour this coming Sunday whilst Caroline is away.

Monday 24th December, Christmas Eve at 23.30 – Midnight Eucharist

Come and celebrate the birth of Christ at our midnight service. Our preacher will be Rev’d Dr Karen Moritz and our Gospel reading will be the prologue to John’s Gospel which explains the mystery of the incarnation.

Tuesday 25th December, Christmas Day at 11.00 – Family Eucharist

A service suitable for adults & children which should last little more than an hour. The Gospel Reading will focus on the story of the Shepherds as described in Luke 2 and I will be the preacher.

At this time of year, it is very easy to forget which day of the week it is so a reminder that 30th December is also a Sunday :-) There will be a Sung Eucharist at 11.00 with a focus on the only story we have from the childhood of Jesus as found in Luke 2. 41-52. If we are to have Coffee Hour on that Sunday, then I need a volunteer to organise it as Caroline isn’t back in Prague until the New Year. Please let me know ASAP if you would be willing to do this.

This will be my last Weekly Message for 2012. All it remains for me to do is to wish you a holy & blessed Christmas, whether you are spending it here in Prague or with friends & family in other parts of the world.

Ricky
