Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

Lent has begun! Thank you to all those of you who came to St. Clement’s on Wednesday evening to mark Ash Wednesday.

As most people know, Lent lasts for forty days & nights, based on the time Jesus spent in the wilderness following his baptism, which is the theme of our readings for this coming Sunday.

Sunday 22nd February at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the First Sunday of Lent
Our responsive Psalm will be Psalm 25. 1-10. We will also hear a short passage from the first letter of Peter – 1 Peter 3. 18-22. Our Gospel reading will be the brief account by Mark, of Jesus’ baptism, time in the wilderness & the beginning of his public ministry – Mark 1. 9-15. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship, Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

Tuesday 24th February – 18.30-20.00 in the small meeting room on the first floor of Klimentská 18.

Bishop Robert’s Lent Appeal
Follow this link, for  details of the appeal by our Anglican Diocesan Bishop, to support a significant project within our own Archdeaconry. As with the Bishop’s Advent Appeal, I’m sure that we’ll probably hold a fund-raising event. But if you would like to make a donation, just put it in an envelope marked ‘
Bishop’s Advent Appeal’, and drop it in the collection basket at any service between now & Easter Day.

Wishing you all a holy and fruitful Lent

Ricky
