It promises to be a great evening with the opportunity of inviting friends to see that Church people can have fun together! And the price of attending is half what we originally advertised and represents extremely good value. If you haven’t yet booked your place(s), please email Gordon as soon as you’ve read this, even before you finish reading the rest of my Weekly Message!

Sunday 20th October at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Twentieth Sunday after Trinity

Our Bible Readings on Sunday will be Isaiah 53. 4-12, Hebrews 5. 1-10 and Mark 10. 35-45. There will not be parallel Children’s Ministry this Sunday as the ever-faithful David & Alison Hellam are away over the weekend. But we will be serving Cool Refreshments at the back of Church following the service.

Next week is half/mid-term break for many of the International Schools in Prague. I am therefore taking Monday 21st – Friday 26th October as the last part of my annual leave for 2012. As a result there will not be a Weekly Message next week. So an advance reminder about our worship on the following Sunday.

Sunday 28th October at 11.00 – Family Eucharist for the Last Sunday after Trinity with Baptism

During this service, I will be baptising Anna Kékesi, the daughter of Monika & Tibor Kékesi. Anna’s elder brother Márton was baptised at St. Clement’s by my predecessor as Chaplain, Canon John Philpott, back in 2006. As baptism is a very visual occasion from which children can see and learn, there will not be parallel Children’s Ministry. It will resume on Sunday 4th November. Please note that during the night of Saturday 27th- Sunday 28th October, Central European Summer Time comes to an end & the clocks go BACK one hour! If you fail to take note, you will arrive at St. Clement’s when the Czech service of our host congregation will still be in progress!

Tuesday 30th October 18.30-20.00 – Midweek Study & Fellowship

Our regular Midweek Study & Fellowship meetings will resume in the small meeting room on the first floor of Klimentská 18 when the much delayed last of four evenings, of a series of Bible Studies looking at St. Paul’s Letter to the Philippians will happen. It didn’t happen last Tuesday as planned, because I went down with a streaming cold/flu which I didn’t want to pass on to anyone else! I’m slowly recovering. On Tuesday 30th October, we will be looking at chapter four. If at all possible, bring a Bible with you though I will also have printed copies of the text with me.

And a reminder from last week’s message

Do you have any Billa stickers you don’t want? Billa is currently giving out stickers with purchases which you can collect in order to get a cuddly toy. The idea is to collect as many as possible and then donate the cuddly toys to a Children’s charity. We are working jointly with the International Church in Prague to pool stickers and get as many cuddly toys as possible to donate to children in need for Christmas? Billa stop giving out stickers on 27th November 2011 and we need to claim the cuddly toys before December 4th. So if you would like to take part, simply bring your stickers to Church & place them in the collecting envelope on the noticeboard at the back of the Church.

That’s enough from me for this week. Looking forward to seeing many of you on both Saturday evening & Sunday morning!

Best wishes

Ricky
