Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

Firstly, a big ‘Thank you’, to everybody who helped make things go so well at St. Clement’s last weekend. We haven’t yet heard how much the Friday carol singalong raised for UNICEF, & Bishop Robert’s Advent Appeal, (to which the whole of the collection at Lessons & Carols on Sunday evening will be given), is still open for further contributions in the collecting box at the back of Church during services between now & Christmas Day. But be sure – as soon as we have the respective totals, they will be communicated through this message & in Church.

My sermon from last Sunday morning, is now available to listen on our Church website here.

I’m very aware than many recipients of this ‘Christmas Message’, have either already left Prague or are about to do so. But for those who will be here between now and the beginning of 2016, here is a quick reminder of our forthcoming services.

Sunday 20th December at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Fourth Sunday of Advent
Our readings will be Micah 5. 2-5a containing words of prophesy about Bethlehem. Then we shall hear words attributed to Mary the mother of JesusLuke 1. 46-55, better known by its title in Latin – Magnificat. The Gospel reading will be the preceding passage – Luke 1. 39-45, describing Mary’s visit to Elizabeth. There will be no parallel Children’s Ministry but there will be Coffee Hour following worship, in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

Thursday 24th December – Christmas Eve at 23.30 – Midnight Christmas Eucharist

Friday 25th December – Christmas Day at 11.00 – Family Eucharist
This service should last no longer than an hour & will hopefully hold the attention of children as well as adults

Sunday 27th December at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Feast of St. John
Our preacher will be Jack Noonan. There will be no parallel Children’s Ministry but there will be Coffee Hour following worship, in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

I shall be taking the inside of the week Monday 27th December – Saturday 2nd January as annual leave. But I shall be back on duty on Sunday 3rd January at 11.00 for our first Sung Eucharist of 2016.

This will be my last ‘Weekly Message’ of 2015. Wherever you are in these coming days, may you joyfully celebrate that ‘Christ the Saviour, is born’.

Best wishes

Ricky
