Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

I want to start this week’s message by saying a big ‘Thank you’, to everyone who helped make last Sunday evening’s Service of Lessons & Carols, such a success. A particular thanks to everybody who helped by bringing appropriate seasonal refreshments; to Gordon Truefitt for the mulled wine, and to Evelyn Zimmerman who masterminded the catering.

David Hellam also asks me to say ‘Thank you’, to everybody who supported the Bake Sale on Sunday 7th December. As he announced in Church last Sunday morning, we have now raised over CZK 3500 for Bishop Robert’s Advent Appeal. If you would like to make a further contribution, the collecting box will be at the back of Church again this Sunday, and on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.

Now for those of you who will still be in Prague this coming weekend and over Christmas

Sunday 21st December at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Fourth Sunday of Advent
Along with 2 Samuel 7. 1-11 & 16 from the Old Testament, we will have two readings from the Gospel of Luke. They are Luke 1. 46-55, the Song of Mary which we tend to know by its Latin title Magnificat, together with the Annunciation as recorded in Luke 1. 26-38. There will be no parallel Children’s Ministry, (it will resume on Sunday 4th January), but following worship there will be Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

Wednesday 24th December, Christmas Eve at 23.30 – Christmas Midnight Eucharist
On Christmas Eve, I will be the Celebrant & Preacher and I shall be concentrating on our Gospel reading, the prologue to the Gospel of John – John 1. 1-14.

Thursday 25th December, Christmas Day at 11.00 – Christmas Day Family Eucharist
On Christmas Day, I’m very pleased to be able to tell you that Rev’d Dr Karen Moritz has agreed to be our preacher and she will be focusing on the Christmas narrative found in Luke 2. 1-20.

Over Christmas & New Year, it is very easy to forget what day of the week it is :-)  However, before 2015 commences, there is one more Sunday!

Sunday 28th December at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the First Sunday of Christmas
The opportunity to hear once more, part of the Christmas story – Luke 2. 16-21 and to give voice to some more Christmas carols! Following worship there will be Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

This will be my last ‘Weekly Message’ of 2014.

Wishing you a Blessed Christmas & a joyful New Year

Ricky
