Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

Sunday 19th May at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Feast of Pentecost

This Sunday sees the third most important, but often neglected, festival of the Christian year – the Feast of Pentecost. We celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the first disciples, fifty days after the first Easter Day, as described in Acts 2. 1-21 which will be our first Bible Reading this coming Sunday.

As last year, please can everybody come to Church wearing something RED the liturgical colour of the festival. And I’m still looking for more volunteers to say, ‘The Lord is here, His Spirit is with us’, in other languages. A big ‘Thank you’ to those who have already been touch. But if you speak another language besides English & would be willing to do this on Sunday morning, please get in touch ASAP, saying which language(s) you can offer. We managed eleven last year & I’d love to beat that total in 2013

The will be Coffee Hour following the service & following Coffee Hour, your newly elected Church Council will meet for the first time.

Tuesday 21st May 18.30-20.00 in the small meeting room on the first floor of Klimentská 18.

Our Tuesday evening study & fellowship session next week will reflect further on the gift of the Holy Spirit as described in the Acts of the Apostles, but we will also compare it with what is sometimes known as ‘John’s Pentecost’, as described in John 20. 19-23. As in previous weeks, we will end by saying Evening Prayer together.

Sunday 26th May at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for Trinity Sunday

There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and the service will be followed by a Bring & Share Lunch in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18. The last Bring & Share Lunch that we held on Palm Sunday was a most enjoyable occasion. Please plan to be there & bring food that can be easily carried & then shared with others.

Don’t forget…. we are still collecting tinned food to help the Salvation Army with there work with the homeless in Prague. The red wheelie bin is at the back of Church & it would be good to hear on Sunday morning, a few more ‘clonks’ as tins are deposited in it

Finally for this week…..

If you received a stewardship letter from our Treasurer Gordon Trufitt a few weeks ago, and have still not responded to Gordon, please could you do so as soon as possible. Your Church Council will be looking at our current financial position when they meet this coming Sunday. We do need to know the level of committed giving from our regular congregation so we can plan accordingly, to address the current shortfall between our income and our expenditure.

With grateful thanks and wishing you the blessings of Pentecost

Ricky
