Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

Firstly, a quick reminder that on:

Saturday 16th April – Mini-Pilgrimage to Sázava – 12.00-17.00 approx.
Spring is here and so we are off again together `Out-of-the-Box`. This time for a 6km downstream stroll through the beautiful Sázava valley to the abbey, church and hermitage of Sv.Prokop – of one of Bohemia`s most significant and beloved saints. Some thoughts about him, and full details, available from gordontruefitt(at)yahoo(dot)co(dot)uk by just putting `Mini Pilgrimage` in the Subject field.

Then I do hope very many of you will join us for worship this coming Sunday which will sadly be that last Sunday that Rev’d Dr Karen Moritz will be with us before she returns permanently to the United States at the end of the month.

Sunday 17th April at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Fourth Sunday of Easter
Our first reading will be Acts 9. 36-43, which tells of Tabitha, a widow who is raised to life by Peter. Our Psalm will be the very familiar words of Psalm 23, whilst the Gospel reading from John 10. 22-30, records Jesus saying, ‘My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish’. Rev’d Dr Karen Moritz will be our preacher. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship, Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

Speaking of Coffee Hour. Does anyone know where we can procure filters for the coffee machine in Klimentská 18? Diane Tvaroha has been trying to find ones of the correct size but without success. If you know where, or can get some before Sunday, please email Diane, diane(dot)tvaroha(at)gmail(dot)com &/or me. Otherwise it’s instant coffee :-(  And with the departure of John & Evelyn, our supply of cakes & savoury nibbles is now very low. Please can we have help with replenishing our stock this Sunday!

As I explained in last week’s Weekly Message, following Coffee Hour this Sunday, I will be away from Prague for nearly two weeks. The first week will be annual leave, visiting various family members in the UK. Then from Monday 25th – Friday 29th April, I’ll be attending the annual ICS Chaplains Conference which this year is being held at Ashburnham Place Conference Centre, in East Sussex, UK. Therefore…..

Sunday 24th April at 11.00 – Morning Prayer for the Fifth Sunday of Easter
The Leader & Preacher will be Jack Noonan. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship, Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

Annual Church Meeting
Thank you to everyone who did attend the Annual Church Meeting last Sunday. Gordon Truefitt and Stephen Weeks were re-elected as Churchwardens. I will formerly swear them in on behalf of the Bishop, this coming Sunday. Angela Hitchen, Peter McGregor, Andrew Kasembe, David Hellam, Diane Tvaroha and Gwen Grieve were elected as Church Council members, and with the Churchwardens & Jack Noonan, (lay Archdeaconry Synod Rep), will form your Church Council for the coming year. They will meet for the first time on either 8th or 15th May.

And if you would like to listen, or listen again, to my sermon from last Sunday, it is now uploaded to the Church website & can be found here:

Until either Saturday &/or Sunday

Best wishes

Ricky
