Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

Further to my introductory paragraph to last week’s ‘Weekly Message’, I’m pleased to report that I’ve just returned from a further visit to my dentist, and now have a shiny new crown fitted into the gap in my front teeth. Eating will be much easier and I should be able to speak & smile properly on Sunday! Once more, my grateful thanks for the many enquiries of concern regarding my well-being that I’ve received during recent days.

Now to worship this coming Sunday

Sunday 15th February at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Sunday next before Lent
Our Gospel reading will be the account of the Transfiguration, as recorded in Mark 9. 2-9. The supporting readings will be 2 Kings 2. 1-12 which describes how Elijah, passed on his prophet’s mantle to his successor, Elisha, and 2 Corinthians 4. 3-6 which speaks of ‘the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ’. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry, led on this occasion by Diane Tvaroha as David Hellam is away. Following worship, there will be Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

Then on next Wednesday, Lent begins! Enjoy your pancakes on Tuesday, but then do come and join us for worship on Wednesday evening.

Ash Wednesday 18th February at 19.00 – Sung Eucharist
Within the service, there will be the opportunity to receive the imposition of ashes but it is voluntary & not obligatory. Even if you don’t normally attend any midweek activity, I do hope that many of you will come and mark the beginning of this significant season of the Christian Year.

Please give serious consideration about joining us for this course, as part of your own Lenten discipline. It is an opportunity to learn more about the spiritual history of the Czech Republic and be challenged about how we live out our Christian faith in this country, six hundred years after these events.

Looking forward to seeing many of you both on Sunday morning & Wednesday evening

Best wishes

Ricky
