Dear People & Friends of St. Clement’s,

Awaking to a light snowfall this morning here in Prague, is a reminder that winter is arriving. So do dress up warmly for worship this coming Sunday for, as all longer-standing members of the congregation know, the heating in Church is somewhat limited, though we do benefit from our host Czech Protestant congregation having it on for their service before ours :-)

Sunday 13th November 2016 at 11.00 – Sung Eucharist for the Second Sunday before Advent

Our Biblical readings on Sunday will firstly be Psalm 98, to which we will respond by declaring that ‘The Lord comes to judge the earth and the peoples with equity. We then hear our third and final instalment from St Paul’s Second Letter to the Thessalonians –  2 Thessalonians 3. 6-13. Our Gospel reading will be Luke 21. 5-19, part of an escatological discourse by Jesus in which one always has to decide whether he is talking about the destruction of Jerusalem in AD70 or the end of time. There will be parallel Children’s Ministry and following worship, Coffee Hour in the hall on the third floor of Klimentská 18.

With tomorrow being Armistice Day, the ninety-eighth anniversary of the end of the First World War & kept as Veteran’s Day in the USA, Sunday is Remembrance Sunday in the UK. Our intercessions will reflect this, being led by our Churchwardens, Stephen Weeks and Gordon Truefitt. Thanks to Diane Tvaroha, Remembrance poppies will also once again be available at the back of Church, in return for a donation to the poppy appeal.

Following Coffee Hour, I will then be off to Praha hl.n. in order to catch the train to Dresden to officiate at the monthly English-language Anglican Service of Evening Prayer at the Frauenkirche.

Tuesday 15th November 18.30-20.00 in the small meeting room on the first floor of Klimentská 18

The fourth of five Bible Studies, looking at Paul’s First Letter to Timothy followed by Evening Prayer. We will be looking at the passage 1 Timothy 5. 1-25. Why not join us this coming Tuesday? If the ground floor door of Klimentská 18 is locked, press the bell marked Sborový Kancelář & we’ll buzz you in!

Two other things for this week…….
